Diversity fatigue is a real phenomenon that has negatively influenced genuine movement related to Diversity and Inclusion. Often times, advocates have employed “blame and shame” tactics to build awareness and gain support for D/I initiatives. Unfortunately, these tactics have cause backlash and propitiated the biases they attempt to mitigate.
Our firm is working to illuminate the business case for inclusive practices and do so in a blameless way. Our science, outcomes-based tactics result in people’s minds to be much more open to these concepts. Advances in neuroscience indicate that you can trigger the defense mechanism in our brains that often shut these conversations down.
We have to stop blaming each other if we want to make real progress.
